How to get away with being off task in class:
Don't give them any reason to doubt you, be suspicious of you, be sure that there is something wrong.
Be polite.
Smile.
Talk in a non-condescending voice. High, childish, but not obnoxious.
Don't necessarily talk. Actually, the less you talk, the better.
Act like you have every right to do this.
Don't panic. Be smooth. Like you are doing what you are supposed to.
And you will be fine.
